Ft. Myers, Fla. – Eric Boylan's (McKees Rocks/Sto Rox) three-run home run in the bottom of the first inning Sunday helped lead the Thiel Tomcats to a 6-5 victory over John Carroll. The win was the second in as many days for the Tomcats, who are in Ft. Myers, Fla. this week competing in the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. In the fourth, Dave Diyorio (Austintown Fitch) and Andrew Howard (Olney, Md./Sherwood) each knocked in one run apiece. David Nypaver (Howland) had a multi-hit game for the Tomcats.

Ft. Pierce, Fla. – Bethany erased an eight-run deficit with 10 runs in the top of the ninth and then escaped a bases-loaded, one-out

jam in the bottom of the inning to come away with a wild victory. Bethany's huge comeback included a run-producing base hit from sophomore PH Tim Dye (Uniontown, Pa./Laurel Highlands) to bring the Bison within four at 11-7. In the second game, Bethany took a 2-1 lead after the first inning but Susquehanna tallied three in the second and eight runs in the third.

Against the U.S. Merchant Marines (N.Y.), Royer had a triple while Carissa Prince doubled. Katie Harmon (1-0) struck out four and picked up the win, while Liz Frindt picked up her first career save.

Orlando, Fla. — Freshman Elise Moore pitched three scoreless innings, but suffered an injury during her at-bat in the top of the fourth inning. Freshman Stephanie Smith finished the final 4.0 innings.

Middleton, Conn. — Westminster placed 31st out of 55 teams at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships held March 2-3 at Wesleyan University. Sophomore Kristen Van Sickel medaled by placing fourth in the 500-meters with a school-record time of 1:18.94. Junior Jess Cooper (Laurel HS) also medaled by capturing fifth place in the high jump with a distance of 5-3.75. Westminster's 4x200 relay set a school record with an 11th-place time of 1:50.59. The team consisted of sophomore Katelyn Kushner, freshman Jill Diamond, sophomore Megan Harding and sophomore Veronica Geretz.
